Calendar says fall; forecast looks like winter

Overnight lows will be below or near freezing every night through the weekend.

After a dusting of snow Monday in Hopkinsville, winter-like weather will set in for the coming week, according to the National Weather Service forecast. 

Overnight lows will be below freezing every night through the weekend, with the possible exception of Thursday when the low is forecast to dip to 34. Daytime highs are expected to be in the 40s all week.

There is a 30% chance of precipitation Thursday, with the possibility of rain and snow before 8 a.m.

There are three weeks remaining in fall. The first day of winter in Dec. 21.
