Beer and food pairing event will benefit Christian County Imagination Library

The Mixer restaurant and Hopkinsville Brewing Co. are collaborating for the Nov. 10 event.

Pints and Pages, a beer and food pairing event at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in downtown Hopkinsville will benefit the Hopkinsville-Christian County Imagination Library.

Hopkinsville Brewing Co. and The Mixer restaurant will provide four pairings of food and beer at the brewery on East Fifth Street. Tickets are $65 and need to be purchased in advance — either online or at the library.

Brewer Kate Russell and restauranteur Graham Dawson will describe how the elements of texture, flavor, aromatics, sweetness and bitterness affect the pairing process, organizers said in a press release.

This is The Mixer’s fourth pairing event in support of the Imagination Library, said DeeAnna Sova, executive director of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. The brewery also participated in a fundraiser, called The Drop In Dinner, last year, she said.

The local Imagination Library, affiliated with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, is celebrating is 10th year. It provides a free book a month, sent by mail, to children from birth to kindergarten age. Christian County residents may register their children online or call KaDessa Snorton at 270-887-4242, ext. 110, to sign up.
