Paul Markowski

Paul Markowski is a distinguished professor of meteorology at Pennsylvania State University and a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society. His research group investigates convective storms and their attendant hazards, particularly tornadoes, using state-of-the-art observations, computer simulations, and theory.

With the new “Twisters” movie hitting theaters, here are details of what scientists do in this kind of fieldwork when they race after storms.
