Jay Blanton is vice president for university relations and chief communications officer at the University of Kentucky. He began his career in journalism writing for several papers in Kentucky and Indiana. Prior to working for UK, he was in public relations for firms in Louisville and Lexington, and for the Keeneland Association. He also worked in politics and government, serving as director of communications for former Kentucky Treasurer Jonathan Miller, deputy communications director for former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson and communications director for former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear.
