Allison Navis

Dr. Allison Navis is a neurologist and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Neuro-Infectious Diseases at Icahn School of Medicine where her clinical practice focuses on neuro-infectious diseases, including HIV. She completed her residency in neurology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in 2018 and a fellowship in Neuro-HIV in 2019. Her research interests involve the effects of HIV on the nervous system, and she is involved in studies both locally and internationally. She also serves as the lead clinical neurologist for the Mount Sinai Post-COVID Center.

Part of the challenge in understanding long COVID is that many of the symptoms, like fatigue and brain fog, can stem from a variety of conditions — which can make it difficult to determine a direct line between cause and effect.
