Actor will portray Harriet Tubman at Alhambra

Tickets for the Friday show are $15.

The actor Leslie McCurdy will perform scenes from her show, “The Spirit of Harriet Tubman: A One Woman Show,” at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, in The Hall at the Alhambra Theatre.

McCurdy will also have a question-and-answer session with the audience to discuss her work.

Tickets for the show, available online, are $15. Light refreshments will be served. The Pennyroyal Arts Council is sponsoring the show for Black History Month 

Harriet Tubman, who was born enslaved around 1820 in Maryland, escaped slavery and became one of the country’s leading abolitionists. She helped dozens of enslaved people escape to the North by using the Underground Railroad, a secret network of safe houses leading from the South to the North.
