The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County has set the annual Unity Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel.
The keynote speaker will be Ron Patterson, president of Murray State University, and the theme this year is “Rooted in Compassion: Moving Forward with Hope.”
HRC is accepting nominations for awards that are presented each year at the Unity Breakfast. These include the Hal & Bettye Thurmond Award, the Bernard Standard Award for Excellence, the Volunteer of the Year Award, and three Unity Awards from Hopkinsville’s mayor, the Christian County judge-executive and the Oak Grove mayor.
The deadline to submit a nomination is 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. Additional information about award criteria and submission forms are available here.
Ticket prices for the event are $35 for individuals. Sponsorship tables are also available. These can be purchased online or by mailing a check to HRC, 715 S. Virginia St., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
