Community members are invited to follow the Christian County Art Loop featuring 30 area artists from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 locations.
The Hopkinsville Art Guild organizes the event to highlight local creativity with live demonstrations and opportunities to speak with the artists in their studios and at host venues.
“Art patrons, collectors and curators, as well as families, are welcomed into the studios and host sites to meet the artists, some in their work environments, and shop for unique original works of art,” guild organizers said in a press release. “The types of art offered include paintings, fiber art, glass work, ceramics, woodwork, photography, sculptures, and illustrations. There will be potters working, painters painting, and crafts people crafting throughout the day. The Alhambra will provide an opportunity for visitors to be creative and design ornaments for the Wonderfully Made Workshop.”
The Art Loop locations and demonstration times are:
- Betty Liles Studio, 378 Martin Place, featuring paintings by Liles and Kim Falco. Demonstrations at noon and 1 p.m.
- Linda Pierce Studio, 315 Wayside Drive, featuring paintings by Pierce. Demonstrations at 1 and 2 p.m.
- Bergman Ceramics Studio, 5655 Cadiz Road, featuring ceramic sculptures by Susan Bergman. Demonstrations at noon, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
- The Book and Bottle Shop, 123 E. Ninth St., featuring fused glass by Irene Grace, fiber art by Anita Cummins, paintings by Justine Abernathy and stained glass by Christine Elledge. Demostrations at 2 p.m.
- Pennyrile Area Museum, 217 E. Ninth St., featuring painting by Henrietta Kemp and Jeannie White and fiber art by Ruth Ann Rettie.
- First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 303 E. Ninth St., featuring painting by Peggy Luensmann and Joan Mitchell, and pottery by Sharon Venable.
- The Crusty Pig, 202 E. Seventh St., featuring painting by Thea Russell and Marti Lopez. Demonstrations at 4 p.m.
- Bella Marie Boutique, 601 S. Virginia St., featuring painting by Lily Kell and pottery by Toni Allinder. Demonstrations at 2 p.m.
- Baked, 110 E. Sixth St., featuring woodworking by Mike Stalls and photography by Nancy Stalls
- Alhambra Theatre, 507 S. Main St., featuring painting by Pam Hancock, Cheyenne Peterson and Sahara Peterson, jewelry and painting by Leslie Saltsman, and ornaments by Wonderfully Made Workshops. Demonstrations all day.

Patrons may register at any of the locations for a drawing to win a $100 gift certificate.
