The Gatsby Gala, a fundraiser of the Friends of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, is planned at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at The Showbox Dinner Theater and Cinemas.
Community members are invited to “dress in your finest ’20s attire” and join the group for a Roaring Twenties-themed evening inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel.
The evening will include a vintage car show, games, prizes, music and dancing prior to a showing of the 2013 movie adaption of “The Great Gatsby.” The band Black Cat Cadillac will perform for gala guests.
Tickets are $60 per person and can be purchased online through The Showbox. Everyone who attends will also receive one complimentary cocktail.
Proceeds from the event will support library programs and resources, the Friends group said.
