Representatives of nonprofit organizations that want to apply for city funding will need to attend a mandatory informational meeting that outlines the process under the Hoptown Helps Grant Program.
Organizations may choose one of two meetings at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center in Room 214:
- 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23
- 1 p.m. on Monday, March 30
Hopkinsville City Council adopted Hoptown Helps in 2025, which altered a long-standing method for awarding city funding to local nonprofit agencies during the annual budget formation. Under the new system — which city officials described as a “fair and transparent distribution of taxpayer dollars” — grant applications are reviewed by the Future Funding Committee.
The total amount of grant funding that will be awarded has not yet been determined.
“The final amount will be determined as we move through the budget process,” Amanda Brunt, the city’s technology and public information director, said in an email.
Applications will be accepted April 1 through May 31. The grant guidelines are available here.
