Charlotte’s on 6th, a Hopkinsville boutique, will close at end of February

The announcement that the boutique will close is the second this week for a locally owned retail shop in downtown Hopkinsville.

Charlotte’s on 6th, a women’s boutique and gift shop, will be closing at the end of the month.

Owner Crystal Ferreira said Wednesday in a Facebook post that as a solo operator she isn’t able to give the shop the attention it requires. She opened Charlotte’s on 6th in September 2024, establishing the business in a building that previously housed Janey Moss’ 6th Street Boutique

“This was an agonizing decision, but a necessary one,” Ferreira wrote in her closing announcement. “The boutique has always been a solo venture — a true passion project — and while I’ve loved every minute of styling, curating, and connecting with you all, my time and responsibilities have grown in other areas. I simply can’t give the shop the attention it deserves anymore, and it’s time for me to focus on the many other things I’ve been called to do.”

Ferreira is operations and marketing manager for the Pennyroyal Arts Council and active in local civic organizations, including the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission.

Her announcement is the second this week for a locally owned retail shop in downtown Hopkinsville. Milkweed Health & Harmony owner Julie-Anna Carlisle will be closing her business in late March.
