New high school among agenda items for Christian County Board of Education retreat

The retreat meeting begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Murray State University Regional Campus in Hopkinsville.

The Christian County Board of Education will have a retreat meeting at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Murray State University Regional Campus, 5305 Fort Campbell Blvd. 

The agenda includes discussion of the new Christian County High School, which is slated to open at the start of the 2026-27 school year. It will consolidate the district’s two public high schools and vocational programs into one school campus on Lovers Lane at Fort Campbell Boulevard.

The district broke ground on the new school in September 2023. The school’s executive principal, Ken Carver, joined the district last summer. He is a former principal in Muhlenberg County.

  • New CCHS construction and transformation update
  • Safety update
  • Instructional update
  • Finance update

Under state law, the meeting is open to the public.
