On Christmas Day, the Salvation Army of Hopkinsville will open its doors for a “Don’t Be Alone on Christmas” lunch and worship service for anyone in the community “who may be feeling lonely, struggling or simply in need of fellowship.”
The lunch, prepared by Sheila Croney, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the dining hall at 313 E. Seventh St. Croney will have classic Christmas fare to create a meal “that feels like home.”
“For many, Christmas is a beautiful season,” said Lt. David Donegan, who is hosting the Christmas celebration with his wife, Lt. Brittney Donegan, and their children Tara Ryan. “But for others, it can be one of the loneliest times of the year — marked by loss, depression, or isolation. This day is about making sure no one has to be alone.”
After lunch, everyone is invited across the street to the Worship Center for a special Christmas service led by the Donegans.
