The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hopkinsville-Christian County, 1600 Walnut St., will celebrate its 20th anniversary with two events on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
The first event is the Great Futures Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The luncheon “provides an opportunity for community members to celebrate the year’s successes, as well as hear from staff, volunteers and members of the [BGC] about their involvement with the club and how their lives have been impacted …,” Terrence Davis, executive director, said in a press release.
Seating for the luncheon begins at 11 a.m., and club members will give guests a tour of the facility prior to the program, which starts at noon.
The second event will be the dedication of the Wade Family Gymnasium at 4:30 p.m.

Tommy Wade Jr., a Hopkinsville native and recently retired collegiate basketball coach, is the benefactor for the newly renovated gym. He invested $165,000 in the project — which has a new wooden floor, bleachers, scoreboards, sideline chairs and video system — as a memorial to his late parents, Tom and Wanda Wade.
Attendees for the events are asked to RSVP to Davis at tdavisbgchcc@gmail.com.
