The best views of Hopkinsville on a snow day

A few inches of snow was just enough to pretty up the landscape for photographs.

Friday seemed like one of the best possible snow days.

In Hopkinsville, we got a few inches of snow — not as much as the maximum of 7 or so inches that the National Weather Service predicted — but just enough to pretty up the landscape.

It wasn’t so cold that a person couldn’t enjoy being outside for a good while.

And for the most part, roads were not heavily impacted. For that, we can thank highway crews for pre-treating roads — along with the not-so-bitter cold that allowed the treatment to do its job.

I spent a good bit of Friday wandering around town and shooting photographs. It is my favorite way to spend a snow day.

The place I found most attractive in the snow was a section of the Hopkinsville Greenway that runs between the North Drive Trailhead and the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. I wasn’t alone. I passed by several other walkers, plus a few on bicycles and one person on a four-wheeler.

I hope you are enjoying the views this weekend. Here’s a link to several of the photos I shot.
