Hopkinsville library offering 4 cash prizes of $250 each in art contest

The Friends of the Library provided $1,000 for the prizes. The art will be displayed in a newly renovated Youth Services area.

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is offering four cash prizes of $250 each for winning art that will be displayed in the library’s newly renovated Youth Services area.

“We are grateful to Hopkinsville-Christian County Friends of the Library for providing the cash prizes for this contest,” Tiffany Luna, the library’s executive director, said in a press release. “We look forward to seeing the amazing artwork our community submits for judging.”

Drawings, paintings and graphic design pieces will be accepted, and the contest is open to all ages.

“The newly renovated Youth Services area will have a children’s area for the library’s youngest patrons and a designated space for teens to enjoy, so we need a variety of artwork that appeals to a range of ages,” Luna said. “We are looking for pieces that are fun and fresh.”

The deadline for submissions is March 31. Entries — on paper or canvas no larger than standard poster size, 18 by 24 inches — should be dropped off at the library’s circulation desk.

Entries must be original artwork that does not violate copyright laws.
