Community support sought for adoption of Hopkinsville Salvation Army’s Christmas angels

Help is needed to provide Christmas gifts through the Adopt-an-Angel program.

The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is seeking help from the community for its Christmas Angel Tree program.

“As of today, 100 Angels are still in need of adoption, and 150 Angels have been adopted, but their gifts have yet to be returned,” a representative said in a press release. “The Angel Tree program allows individuals, families, and groups to “adopt” Angels, providing gifts for children and seniors who may otherwise go without during the holiday season. Each Angel represents someone in need, and the program depends on the generosity of the community to make it successful.”

Lt. Brittney Donegan said there are three way to help. She outlined the following:

  • Adopt an Angel: Visit an Angel Tree at all Wal-Mart locations or go online to www.SalvationArmyHopkinsville.org. Click on ‘Purchase a Gift for a Precious Angel’ to access our Walmart registry, where you can shop for gifts conveniently online.
  • Return Gifts: If you’ve already adopted an Angel, please return the gifts by Friday, Dec. 13, to any Wal-Mart Location or at our LifNAV Center at 313 E. Seventh St., Hopkinsville, KY 42240. Timely returns allow us to organize and distribute them to families before Christmas.
  • Financial Contributions: Donate to our Virtual Red Kettle at www.SalvationArmyHopkinsville.org.  Your gift helps cover the costs of shopping for any Forgotten Angels to ensure no one is left out.
