Hopkinsville’s Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
Veterans who want to participate are invited to meet at the Memorial Building, 1202 S. Virginia St., to assemble for the parade march to the Christian County Justice Center on East Ninth Street. Those who do not want to walk will be able to ride on a float.
Community members who want to watch the parade traditionally line the sidewalks, especially in the area near the intersection of Ninth and Virginia streets.
Hopkinsville’s Division of Parks and Recreation and the Christian County Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee are the parade organizers.
Veterans Day, observed on Nov. 11, is a federal holiday that recognizes all who have served in the U.S. military. Most local, state and federal offices are closed on the holiday, as are many banks.
