Kentucky’s 62nd gubernatorial inauguration, for Democrat Andy Beshear, will include several events and public activities Tuesday following a private “midnight” swearing-in ceremony at 10:30 p.m. CST on Monday.
Kentuckians who cannot travel to Frankfort to witness the events in person will be able to view them on KET channels and on the station’s website.
The inauguration theme is “Forward, Together,” and the events will include a parade, a public swearing-in ceremony and a ball.
Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House will give a reading and Grammy-nominated artist Tyler Childers will sing for the swearing-in ceremony. Both men are from Eastern Kentucky.
Beshear and Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman won reelection in November.
KET’s live coverage of the events Tuesday (with CST times listed here) will include:
- Inaugural Parade — 10 a.m.
- Inaugural Prelude — 12:30 p.m.
- Swearing-in ceremony — 1 p.m.
- The Grand March — 5 p.m.
- Special Inauguration Edition of “Kentucky Edition” — 10 p.m.
The “midnight” swearing-in Monday night will also air live on KET.
