Hopkinsville’s fifth annual Squealin’ on the Square BBQ Festival — on Friday, June 9, in Founders Square downtown — still has space for teams that want to enter the competition, the city’s Parks and Recreation office announced Thursday.
Teams of up to five members each will be judged in three categories — chicken, ribs and chops. The winners will receive $250 and a trophy in each category.
Groups that are interested can find more information and the application packet on the Parks and Recreation website.
The public will be able to buy barbecue from the teams beginning at 6 p.m. The event will feature a cash bar with beer and wine, and live music will be provided by Xtraordinary Gentlemen.
