Free tickets to Murray State University’s homecoming football game on Oct. 19 are available on a first-come, first-served basis, said organizers of an effort to benefit the Preston Cope Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The tickets were purchased by Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble and his wife, Shelly, and by Harbor Insurance agent Adam Murphy.
“The Homecoming football game will be a fun atmosphere for friends and neighbors in Christian and Trigg counties. Plus, this section will receive a visit from Athletics Director Kevin Saal and other representatives of University Athletics,” an organizer said in a news release.
Murray is playing Eastern Kentucky University. The game, at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, begins at 2 p.m.

The Preston Cope Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by family and friends to memorialize the 15-year-old sophomore killed during the Jan. 23, 2018, shooting at Marshall County High School in 2018.
