Milkweed slates poetry reading Wednesday

Amy Wright will read from her poetry collection "Everything in the Universe."

An Austin Peay State University professor of English will give a poetry reading at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Milkweed Health & Harmony Emporium, 202 E. Ninth St.

She is also the author of “Cracker Sonnets” and “Paper Concert: A Conversation in the Round.”

Wright grew up on a family farm in southwest Virginia. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Virginia, her master’s at the University of Colorado and her doctorate at the University of Denver. 

Wright says she “strives through her teaching and writing to promote environmental sustainability and healing through meaning-making.”
