Hoptown Harvest Festival is Sept 23 and 24

The festival will include a farm-to-table dinner, bourbon vendors, a vintage craft fair and a team cocktail competition.

The fourth annual Hoptown Harvest Festival will be Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23 and 24, in Founders Square downtown.

The festival begins with a farm-to-table dinner on Friday. There’s a social hour at 6 p.m. and the meal follows at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s events include the Kentucky Bourbon Mashoree and a Vintage Craft Fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A new event for this year’s festival is a team activity, the Mixed at the Mashoree Creative Cocktail Competition. It’s sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Hopkinsville.

“Teams will go on an ‘Amazing Race’ style scavenger hunt throughout the festival vendors to collect ingredients for their cocktail,” organizers said.

After the teams create their cocktails, a team of judges will award prizes for Best Taste, Best Presentation and Best Cocktail & Tagline. Teams need to register in advance

Hopkinsville’s Downtown Renaissance District organizes the festival with several community partners. The main sponsor is Krusteaz, one of the baking mix brands produced by Continental Mills in Hopkinsville.
