The United Way of the Pennyrile will kick off its annual campaign with a breakfast meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Christian County Senior Center, 1402 W. Seventh St. The breakfast sponsors are Hopkinsville Electric System, Bank of Cadiz and Rogers Group.
Money raised during the campaign will help fund 47 programs offered by 19 agencies in Caldwell, Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, United Way executive director Betsy Bond said in a press release.
The 2022-23 campaign co-chairs are Lucas Stagner and Whitney Stewart. They will announce the campaign goal amount at the breakfast. In addition, Pacesetter campaign totals will be announced. Anyone planning to attend the breakfast should call the United Way at 270-886-8171.
The campaign theme is Seeds of Hope. The fundraising effort will run from Sept. 15 to Nov. 30. An update will be given at a luncheon with the Hopkinsville Kiwanis and Rotary clubs on Oct. 25.
The 2021-22 campaign generated $726,743.
