United Way of Pennyrile names campaign co-chairs

Whitney Turner Stewart and Lucas Stagner will lead the 2022-23 fundraising campaign.

The United Way of the Pennyrile has named co-chairs for the 2022-23 fundraising campaign that helps fund 19 partner agencies in Christian, Caldwell, Todd and Trigg counties. They are Whitney Turner Stewart, an accounts manager for Higgins Insurance, and Lucas Stagner, an engineer and paramedic with the Hopkinsville Fire Department. Both are Christian County natives.

“Growing up here in Hopkinsville I have seen the impact that volunteers make in our community and I have always been eager to serve,” Stewart said in a press release from United Way. “I am really hoping to target younger donors and shed some light on why donating to United Way is so important and how much it truly impacts our partner agencies.”

Stagner said, “This was an easy decision because being an active member of the Christian County Rescue Team, I see first-hand the impact United Way makes in the Pennyrile region through its partner agencies.”

The local organization wrapped up its 2021-22 campaign in April, when co-chairs Brooke Jung and Dan Kemp announced they had raised $726,743 in contributions and pledges. It was just shy of the $750,000 goal.
