The city of Hopkinsville has a new online portal that aims to give residents quicker, easier access to information about local government and the community.
Hoptown Hotline is designed “to get users to desired information within two or fewer clicks,” city officials announced in a news release.
Much of the information is not new, but the improved access is, Mayor Carter Hendricks told Hoptown Chronicle.
Hoptown Hotline is accessible from the city’s website and links users to the following areas:
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Here you can keyword search nearly 100 entries. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Not to worry. The city’s entire website also features Google search capability and new FAQ entries will be added regularly.
- Report a Concern – To tell us about your issue, either enter the address of concern or set your device to allow your location to be shared. You can even upload photos to show more detail… of course, only when and where it’s safe to do so.
- Find My Council Person – Select the “City Council Info” option from the map layer list and click on your property to find contact information for your elected official.
- Community Calendar – Keen to find out what’s going on in town this weekend or wanting to schedule and event without conflicting with an annual favorite? Take a look at our community events calendar.
- Job Opportunities – Learn more about jobs that are currently available with the City of Hopkinsville and even submit your application online.
“Hoptown Hotline is part of an overall refresh of the city’s website. Other upgrades include interactive social media features, an updated look, continued user friendliness and robust content as well as a free, new companion app – GovAlert,” the news release states.
“Similar to Hoptown Hotline’s Report a Concern, residents can use this the GovAlert app to request mosquito spraying; identify clogged storm drains or downed street signs; report overgrown grass, unsafe structures, and other property violations; and much more.”
