School district names principal for Millbrooke Elementary

Renikka Owen, Millbrooke Elementary School’s interim principal since April, has been selected to fill the position permanently, the school district announced Monday. 

Owen, who was the assistant principal before becoming interim, has worked in the school system for 12 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Western Kentucky University and master’s degrees at WKU and Murray State University, district spokesman John Rittenhouse said in a news release. 

Owen’s husband, Will Owen, is director of Hopkinsville Middle School’s Family Resource and Youth Services Center. They have two children — Jordan, 10, and Daijha, 15.
