Sixteen new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Wednesday in Christian County, pushing the local total to 447, the health department reported.
The total includes 163 active cases and 280 people who have recovered after previously testing positive for COVID-19. Four people in Christian County have died from coronavirus complications.
As of Wednesday, the confirmed, active cases by age group were:
- Youth (0-21): 38
- Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 100
- Older Adult (60-84): 18
- Elderly (85+): 7
So far this week, 36 new cases have been confirmed, according to the health department.
Last week, with 87 new cases, marked the highest total since the start of the pandemic in mid-March. That broke the previous record a week earlier with 58 cases.
