Kentucky has 7 coronavirus deaths Sunday and Monday

The state had 246 newly confirmed cases from Sunday and Monday.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced 246 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and Monday, bringing the state’s total to 6,677 since the state’s first coronavirus case was confirmed in early March.

Seven deaths from COVID-19 were reported on Sunday and Monday for a total of 311.

On Sunday the deaths included a 67-year-old man from Allen County, and 73-year-old woman and a 90-year-old woman, both from Jefferson County. Monday’s deaths included a 72-year-old man from Bullitt County, a 69-year-old man from Henderson County, a 79-year-old woman from Hopkins County and a 72-year-old woman from Jefferson County.

For the first time in a month, Beshear said during his daily briefing, the number of people in an intensive-care unit declined, down from 222 over to the weekend to 220 on Monday. 

At least 2,335 people in Kentucky have recovered from the coronavirus, the governor said.
