The Christian County Health Department is adding a downtown site where people can be tested for COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Testing will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 11, and Monday, May 18, at 512 S. Clay St., the lot of the former Chevrolet dealership.
The Clay Street location could be more convenient for residents of the inner-city.
The health department’s other test site is on the south side of town at Tie Breaker Park. It is open from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturdays.
During a teleconference Tuesday, the health department was asked if officials had considered a test site in the inner-city for residents who might not have transportation to Tie Breaker Park. A spokeswoman said they would consider it if location became an issue.
There’s no charge for the health department testing and no requirement to have health insurance. It is provided in conjunction with the state. Anyone is eligible to be tested, including those who have not had symptoms of COVID-19.
In addition to the health department’s testing programs, COVID-19 testing is now available at First Care walk-in clinic on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
