The health department is urging the community to take steps to prevent spreading the coronavirus.

The Christian County Health Department reported Thursday the 11th death locally from COVID-19 related complications. It is the third death reported in three days and the sixth in two weeks.

The latest victim was a 63-year-old woman who had underlying health conditions, Christian County Health Director Kayla Bebout said in a press release.

Bebout repeated a warning the health department has issued with recent reports of COVID-19 related deaths:

“Please remember that COVID-19 can mean life or death, especially among our more vulnerable populations. We ask that the community continues to take preventative steps such as frequent hand washing, wearing a mask in public, and social distancing when possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
