3 Christian County nonprofits to benefit from Planters Bank holiday campaign

This year, the Planters Bank Season of Giving campaign will benefit organizations that support children.

Men2Be, Boys & Girls Club and Imagination Library are among the 12 area nonprofits throughout Western Kentucky and Tennessee that will be supported by Planters Bank’s holiday giving campaign.

Entering its eighth year, the bank’s Season of Giving initiative aims to bring awareness to local nonprofits. This year, it is focusing on organizations that work on behalf of children.

“It’s important for us to bolster the efforts of these non-profits who shape the futures of our communities,” Planters Bank CEO Elizabeth McCoy said in a news release.

Planters will once again offer Kentucky and Tennessee gift tins — with new designs and new items — that will be filled with a matching flour sack towel and custom Kentucky-shaped ornament. The gift sets, commissioned by Hopkinsville-based Williams Advertising, will sell for $20.

Selected organizations will receive 100% of the purchase price of each tin, based on the organization supported by the branch where the item is sold.

The branches associated with the Christian County nonprofits are:

  • Men2Be – Indian Hills Office, 3103 Canton St.
  • Boys & Girls Club – Main Office, 1312 S. Main S.
  • Imagination Library – Boulevard Office, 4195 Ft. Campbell Blvd.

In addition to supporting these groups through purchases in each branch, the bank has brought back their tradition of donating $25 for every checking or savings account opened mentioning the Season of Giving when visiting a Planters Bank location, according to the release.

Last year, the campaign brought in $88,964 for 12 organizations, including the Hopkinsville Convention & Visitors Bureau ($10,117), Pennyroyal Arts Council ($8,137), Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park ($6,270) and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County($7,871).
