No new regulations. No new taxes. Reduce the burden/costs/regulations now required to build in Hopkinsville/Christian County. To many do-gooder rules drive the cost of houses up.
I would work to reduce regulations, fees, and other general taxes on business to encourage them to use Hopkinsville/Christian County as a base of operations. Businesses locate where the cost of doing business is lowest. Hopkinsville/Christian County is not that place. Hence no real growth over the last 20 years.
People do not have storm shelters because they cannot afford them. I do not support more taxpayer funded programs to build them for people. Let let the taxpayer keep more of their own money, so they can use to to what they think is important in their lives. If they feel like they need/want a storm shelter, they can then afford to build one.
As stated earlier, I would reduce taxes on existing business, reduce fees, to make Hopkinsville/Christian County attractive for overflow businesses from the Nashville metro area. I would form a partnership with local entrepreneurs who have a vision for new businesses, and will bring investment money into the Hopkinsville/Christian County area. Finally, I don't think people realize the impact of working remotely (thanks covid) has on the economy. I would work with our internet providers to 'warp speed' the introduction of internet to every resident of Christian County.
Yes. Have you looked at your insurance statement lately? Have you looked at your cell phone bill? Water bill? all have hidden taxes in them... And you just have to love the parking lot tax Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority has imposed to all businesses for storm water improvements. ... Get rid of 'em all.
NO!!! Who wants another unaccountable board of people sticking their hands in your pocket for programs you do not want. The school board is bad enough.
I would support making Christian County a 2nd Amendment friendly county.
